Follow these guidelines to protect yourself while searching for your life partner online. Matrimonial platforms require the same level of care as any online interaction with strangers.

  • Arrange your own transport — do not accept a ride from the match
  • Keep your phone fully charged and carry emergency contacts
  • Do a video call before the physical meeting to confirm they are who their profile says
  • Meet during daytime for the first 2–3 meetings
  • Have an exit plan — a reason to leave if you feel uncomfortable
  • Trust your intuition at every moment

Is my contact information visible to everyone? +
No. Your phone number, email, and WhatsApp are hidden from all members by default. They are only visible to you when logged in. To share contact details with a specific match, you must do so manually. Upgrading to a Vivah plan allows the other party to request contact — but you always have the final say.
Can I browse profiles without them knowing? +
By default, your visits are logged in the "Who Viewed Me" section of the profile you visited. To browse anonymously, enable Incognito Mode from your Privacy Settings — this requires a Vivah or Param Vivah membership.
What happens when I report a profile? +
Your report goes to our safety team immediately. The reported person is never told who filed the report. We review the profile within 24 hours and take action — which may include a warning, temporary suspension, or permanent removal depending on the severity. You will receive an update via email or SMS.
Can I hide my profile temporarily without deleting it? +
Yes. Go to Privacy Settings and set your profile visibility to "Hidden". Your profile, matches, and data are preserved — only you can see them while hidden. Turn it back on whenever you are ready to resume your search.
Someone asked me for money. What should I do? +
Do not send money under any circumstances. This is a well-known matrimonial scam. Immediately block the person on ShadiGiva, report the profile using our Report form, and file a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930. If you have already transferred money, contact your bank immediately to request a freeze.
How do I permanently delete my account and all data? +
Go to Privacy Settings on this page and click "Delete My Account". You will be asked to confirm. Once confirmed, your profile, photos, messages, and personal data will be permanently erased within 7 working days. This action cannot be reversed. If you change your mind, contact us within 48 hours at support@shadigiva.com.
Is ShadiGiva sharing my data with third parties? +
ShadiGiva does not sell or share your personal data with advertisers or third-party marketers. Your data is used solely to match you with other members and improve our service. Read our full Privacy Policy for complete details. Astrogiva.com (our Kundali partner) only receives birth details for horoscope generation — not your contact information.
